Thirty years after saying "I do," the pint-sized personalities announced through a spokesperson on Monday that they are separating. "Entertainment Tonight" was the first to report the news.

After meeting on the set of "Taxi," DeVito, who currently stars in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and Perlman, who recently had a recurring role on HBO's "Hung," were married in January 1982. They have three adult children — Lucy, 29, Grace, 27, and Jacob, almost 25.

In July, DeVito talked about the secret to a long-lasting marriage. "You both have to want the same things," he told The Big Issue. "If you're going to be compadres, friends for ever, you have to be considerate and make many concessions to be able to live together."

DeVito, 67, and Perlman, 64, were on the red carpet together as recently as August when they attended the Los Angeles premiere of "Sleepwalk With Me" with their daughter Lucy.
