Serbian Footballer Scores What Seems To Be The Fastest Goal Ever In The World

By Delords - Friday, September 28, 2012

Vuk Bakic scored what could be the fastest goal ever in a Serbian youth match between his GSP Polet side and Dorcol. When the referee blew his whistle to start the match, Bakic took a shot on goal from the center mark that caught Dorcol's goalkeeper off guard, flew over his head and bounced into the net.

FIFA's laws of the game specifically state that "a goal may be scored directly from kick-off" (law 8), but Dorcol protested the fact that Bakic's teammate was standing in their half of the pitch when the shot was taken, which is a violation. The referee let the goal stand though, and GSP Polet went on to win the match 4-1.

While Bakic has gained a bit of international fame from this, Dorcol's keeper has probably gained a sense of paranoia on kick-offs and the referee hopefully got a refresher on the rules.
